Spencer T.  Kerce, Jr. has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry and has been with JMC since 2016. Spencer’s career encompasses working in various trades for both residential and commercial construction with different levels of responsibility. His experience includes supervising a multitude of retail, restaurant, historical, clinical, and municipal projects. We have been fortunate to have him manage projects including SCRA Vikor Scientific, Johns Island Pharmacy, Coastal Pediatric Associates, Roper St. Francis, Nexton offices, and several historical downtown buildings. Spencer always addresses project details and challenging conditions with professionalism.

John Williams joined JMC in 2018 and has over 30 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. John possesses solid construction and project management skills with an ability to prioritize demanding administrative operations and meet strict deadlines through effective time management. He is resourceful and results-oriented with a proven ability to bring quick resolutions to extremely challenging situations. We are happy to have had John managing our projects for the Charleston Airport, Strayer University, Roper St. Francis, Nolan Transportation Group, Allied Reliability, and BDP International among many others.

Mike Evans has been with JMC since 2016 and has over 36 years of experience in the commercial and industrial construction industries. Mike has worked as a carpenter, an assistant superintendent, and as a field superintendent with specific experience managing government, medical, and education projects. Mike is a hard worker with a mission to keep the client happy and get the job done. Mike’s list of projects includes multiple jobs at The Citadel, Ashley Oaks Shopping Center, Roper St. Francis, and Hudson Nissan. He has also done an amazing job managing renovations for Flooring Services and Liberty Center as well as many other upfits.

David Gaines is originally from Pawleys Island, SC and has worked in commercial construction since 2014. His experience includes a background in casework construction and installation as well as superintendent responsibilities for large healthcare facilities. David has managed daily operations for a variety of pharmacy, lab, and medical facility renovations with a focus on safety, scheduling, and communication. David supervises projects with superior problem-solving skills and attention to detail. David has been an incredibly valuable addition to our team and has proven his abilities at The Opportunity Center and in his management of a Coastal Pediatric Associates major renovation.

Charlie Polovoy has worked for J. Musselman Construction, Inc. as a Superintendent since the beginning of 2019. Charlie is originally from Maryland and graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Political Science. Charlie has proven himself as an asset through his impressive work on numerous construction projects including Wild Dunes Resort, Longevity Fitness, Roper St. Francis, and various retail and restaurant spaces. Charlie has also assisted in the historical renovation of 1156 King Street and multiple SCRA Vikor Scientific upfits. Charlie has a can-do attitude that always gets the job done.

Jacob Batey began working for J. Musselman Construction, Inc. as a Project Superintendent in early 2023. Jacob is originally from Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. He has experience managing medical, office, and multi-family upfits and renovations. Jacob has managed construction projects with both interior and exterior scopes. Jacob strives to produce a quality job by keeping his projects organized, safe, and compliant. He continues to exceed expectations, proving himself to be a valuable, well-respected member of our team.

Doug Daub joins our team from Pennsylvania with over 30 years of construction experience. Doug’s professionalism is evident in his diligent focus on the administrative, quality, and communication aspects of jobsite management. Doug has proven his abilities with his successful supervision of new building construction as well as renovations in the retail, educational, industrial, and residential sectors. With a strong work ethic and vast construction knowledge, he has quickly become a very valuable asset to our company.
