J Musselman Construction Celebrates!

2020 became a year that challenged us like no other. As a company, we adapted with new protocols and procedures to help keep everyone safe and employed while ensuring our projects did not suffer and our business stayed strong.

To celebrate what eventually became a very successful year for us, we held our holiday celebration on a gorgeous day outside our new office with plenty of food, fun, and socially distanced camaraderie.

We are thankful for the opportunity to come together to make positive changes this year, but we have no problem saying good-bye to 2020 and hello to a very promising 2021!

The official ranking was unveiled on October 27, 2020, in Columbia, SC.  

J. Musselman Construction, Inc. ranked at #22 for the Palmetto State’s most dynamic and successful companies. To be eligible for the SC 25 Fastest Growing Companies Award, a company must be headquartered in South Carolina and be in business for at least three years and show revenues of more than $3 million in the last fiscal year.

The owner, Jon Musselman, commented that while growth is good, “controlled growth is even better. Make sure that the growth does not overtake your long-term strategy. And make sure you have the right team in place. It’s very difficult to play catch-up later.”

We have moved into our newly renovated office at 654 St. Andrews Boulevard in West Ashley.

J. Musselman Construction was awarded the Charleston Digital Corridor project in the new Charleston Tech Center building on Morrison Drive. Charleston Digital Corridor provides office space for startups and growing tech companies. This approx. 14,000 SF project on the 2nd floor will include polished concrete floors, exposed ceilings in the corridors, unique shiplap and millwork details, and many windows to bring in natural light creating a modern and attractive office space.

J. Musselman Construction was awarded The Opportunity Center project on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. The Opportunity Center provides office space for local nonprofits and will be the new home to multiple economic development groups. A former furniture warehouse will be renovated to create the space and is approx. 32,000 SF. The project consists of gutting the existing building, adding new exterior windows and clerestories in the roof to bring in natural light, exposed ceilings, carpet and LVT flooring, and wood architectural features inside and out.

The City of Folly Beach, South Carolina has awarded The RFP for City Hall Renovations to J. Musselman Construction Inc. for $1,274,676.00 which includes the base bid and 3 alternate adds.
